Athamallik Sub-divisional Hospital Building was constructed by the Ruler Maharaja Mahindra Deo on 20.10.1918 subsequently the referral status concurred in the year 1991.The hospital is located 84 K.M away from the District head Quarter Angul being situated in the heart of Athmallik Town having a beautiful surrounding. The total area of hospital is 3835 Sq.mt. and situated to the south in river Mahanadi and Panchadara hills on the north. The location of the S.D. Hospital & its climatic condition is extreme. The Sub-divisional Hospital provides medical facilities and referral services to a population around 2 Lakhs for the nearby villagers including the inhabitants of NA.C. Athmallik..

MEDICAL INSTITUTION UNDER THE SUB-DIVISIONAL HOSPITAL

 

Total area of the SDH are SDH, Athmallik campus with adjacent quarters- A.0.990 dec,, Drug Warehouse  - A.0.150 dec, Superintendent Quarter with adjacent Doctors Quarters , Post Mortem Center – A., Staff Quarter near DFO (T) Office- A.0.40 dec and Land at Kaintragarg – A.0.730 dec respectively are allotted for Sub Divisional Hospital. . As regards to  the facilities towards sanctioned bed strength of SDH  the average  Bed occupancy rate is a 95-98 % .But during pick period (i.e. from June to October) occupancy increases to 150% -200%.

    Rogi Kalyan Samiti is the noble initiative of government under the aegis of National Health Mission (NHM) for decentralization of the smooth management of the govt. hospitals with peoples’ participation. The services provides under RKS is being functioning under an approved committee and is the main body to look after the improvement for  the quality of healthcare service, healthcare infrastructure etc in the interest of public service. . Fire Safety Management at SDH, Athmallik:

  1. Consequent upon the Letter no 8531/SHFW dated 29th April 2016 issued from the Principal Secretary Health & family welfare Department , Government of Odisha for the fire safety measures in health institution ,of Athmallik District, a committee has been formed comprising of the following officers headed by Superintendent, SDH ,for the Sub-divisional Hospital, Athmallik.

Asst Executive Engineer (R&B) Division, Athmallik

Electrical Inspector, Angul

The above committee members are instructed to visit all the health institution and provide No objection Certificate (NOC) as regards to the fire safety, accordingly a report of compliance is to be submitted to the Sub Collector, Athmallik & Collector & DM, Angul at regular intervals.

  1. Basing on the report of the committee, immediate corrective measures is taken by the departments concerned. For the Certificate of fire safety & is obtained obeying the guidelines in this matter...
  2. Subsequent inspections by the committee member in every six month and for insisting the remedial measures to be taken.
  3. At present all 64 Nos. of Fire Extinguisher installed at SDH Athmallik are refilled and training on fire management is also given to all the staffs working at SDH, Athmallik.
